Lucky Pokémon are like the VIPs of your Pokémon collection, they’re rare, sparkly, and come with some awesome perks! When you have a Lucky Pokémon, it costs much less Stardust to power them up, making them perfect for building a strong battle team without breaking the bank. Plus, they have this cool shimmering background in your storage that screams, "Hey, I'm special!".
How Do You Get Lucky Pokémon?
The magic happens through trading. Every time you trade a Pokémon with a friend, there’s a chance it will turn into a Lucky Pokémon. The longer the Pokémon has been sitting in your storage (think years, not days), the higher the chance it will become Lucky during the trade.
There’s also a guaranteed way: If you and your friend are Lucky Friends (a special status in the game), your next trade will automatically result in both Pokémon becoming Lucky. It's like a win-win sparkle fest!
Why There Is Fewer Lucky Pokémon Than Regular Pokémon?
As you learned above, Lucky Pokémon are obtained through trades and there are some Pokémon that, at least to the day I'm writing this, are not allowed to be traded, like Mythical or Shadow Pokémon. So that is why there are fewer Lucky Pokémon on the Pokédex that Regular Pokémon, we remove the ones that are not allowed to be traded, therefore are not able to be lucky.
Why Should You Care About Lucky Pokémon?
Well, they’re not just about saving Stardust. Lucky Pokémon also tend to have high IVs (stats), making them ideal for battles, raids, or just showing off to your friends. Whether you’re a casual collector or a hardcore battler, having a Lucky Pokémon feels like hitting the jackpot.
So, start trading and watch the magic happen. Who knows, your next Lucky Pokémon might just become your new MVP!
